Friday Freebie: PowToon - One COOL Presentation Tool

Are you looking for a new way to present material? Tired of the same old presentation tools everyone is using? Then try out today's Friday Freebie: Powtoon! While the site is still in Beta testing, I am really impressed with the tool.

Their website boasts that Powtoon is ...

...the brand new Do-It-Yourself animated presentation tool that supercharges your presentations and videos! Save massive amounts of time and money by creating Presentoons that bring the WOW!-factor to product demos, business presentations, social media clips, and much more.
• User-friendly, Intuitive interface
• Countless style, image, and effect combos
• Professional results, powerful responses
And it is impressive. The resulting presentations really have a great look to them - great themes, cool graphics, and stunning animation. They look incredibly professional. Here's a quick example of a PowToon presentation I made  about our district belief statements. (I've only finished three of our seven statements, but you'll get the idea.)

This was really easy to create once I got the hang of it. (And even easier to embed.) Each slide can contain several different text boxes and graphics and a simple to use timeline interface allows you to easily control when the objects appear and disappear. Images do need to reside on the web for insertion, but I easily solved this by dropping them in DropBox. When you create a presentation, you can decide whether you want it to be in "presentation" mode or "video" mode, but you can easily switch between the two. You can even add narration!

As I said, the site is in Beta testing, but you can sign up to be one of the test drivers. For now, you can create presentations of any length. Soon, only 45-second presentations will be free. They're working on the pricing structure for longer lengths right now. Paid subscriptions will also remove the branding.

I really hope that they consider educational packages for those of us that want to use it in schools. I hope they're reading this right now! Come on guys, you've got a great tool here! Help us use PowToon with our kiddos!
