Apps to Keep You (H)appy!

Okay, it has been FAR too long since I've posted anything on this blog, but ... I'm BAAAACK!

Today, I'd like to focus on some very important iOS apps. These apps are crucial to teaching. These apps are important! But, they have very little application in the classroom. The apps I want to talk about are all apps I use to maintain my sanity and just have some plain ol' fun.

Summer is a great time to rejuvenate and take care of yourself as a teacher. You need to remember to do that all year long. So, here are a few of my favorite apps (in no particular order) to help you take care of yourself throughout the summer and this next school year!

BeFunky -  BeFunky is a great FREE photo editing app. Don't just snap a picture and post it, get "funky" with hundreds of cool filters and frames!

MapMyRide - This is one of several apps (MapMyRun, MapMyWalk) that uses GPS to map your cardio exercising. It gives you great stats and is a real motivator!

Redbox - Never spend time perusing a Redbox again. Use this app to search for DVD's and then find and reserve it before you head out the door. Swipe your card when you get to the Redbox and you're outta there!

Trailers - If you're like me, you love movie trailers almost as much as you love movies. I can sit for hours watching movie previews with this app!

Real Guitar - This is an incredible app for musicians. It sounds just like a ... well, a real guitar.

Geocaching - If you've never hunted down a geocache, you're in for a treat here. Who knew there were so many hidden treasures all over the place?!

HeadsUp - I'm not much for games on the iPhone or iPad, but this group game is too much fun!

Vivino - A social networking app for lovers of vino. Scan the label on a bottle and you get ratings and more!

Vinyl Mini - Turns your iPhone into a vintage record player (complete with scratches and skips). For the die-hard music enthusiast!

So, what your favorite sanity apps?
